The Evidence Check.
AI gave you an answer. That does not make it true. This guide gives you the verification checklist that sorts every AI output into verified, assumption, unknown, or needs source.

How should you verify AI-generated work before sharing it?
Treat AI output as a draft. Separate claims into verified, assumption, unknown, and needs source. A persuasive answer is not evidence.
How to put this into practice
Check numbers, dates, quotations, named organizations, and claims that affect decisions against original sources. Label assumptions clearly and investigate meaningful unknowns. If you cannot substantiate a specific claim, remove or qualify it.
Example
An AI-drafted sales message promises a 40% reduction in onboarding time. Do not send that number until you confirm a relevant customer result and its context.
